How To Get On A Game Show
We asked our readers who have made it on game shows to give us their hints for getting on a game show. Here’s some of what they had to say.
“Don’t go in expecting to win. I lost on my two game shows but that really doesnt matter. Go in for the experience and you will come out having a better time no matter what the outcome of the game is.” —Frank Vaccaro; Union, NJ (Price is Right, Let’s Ask America)
For Jeopardy!: “Stay up-to-date on current events and current pop culture, certainly, but you probably shouldn’t break out your old high school textbooks just to pass the test. It’ll put unnecessary pressure on you during the audition, and will ultimately become another mental block you have to leap over before you decide whether to buzz or not.” —Josh Woo; Los Angeles, CA (Jeopardy!, The Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune)
“I would recommend just being yourself and having fun! Show the producers that you’re good people and that you can genuinely be fun and outgoing.” —Rick Deranger; Little Rock, AK (The Newlywed Game)
