Upcoming Game Show Schedules Impacted by Coronavirus
We’re keeping a list of how game shows are being impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic.
We’ve received many questions asking how the Coronavirus virus is affecting your favorite game shows. We’re compiling a list of what to expect from shows in production, upcoming, and on the air. This is a rapidly moving situation and this list will change as more information comes out. Guidelines for numbers of people in a group are being announced and put in place so this list is not final.
Game shows are inconsequential in relation to the global health crisis. However, they are nice forms of escapism. While many are stuck at home, either voluntarily or by force, we wanted to let you know what you can look forward to in the next few months.
*The Price is Right: Production suspended through at least March 30th for the currently airing season. Taped episodes should take them through May.
*Wheel of Fortune: Production suspended until an unknown date for the currently airing season. Taped episodes will take them through the end of April. One week of episodes without an audience was recorded before suspending production.
*Jeopardy!: Production suspended until an unknown date for the currently airing season. Taped episodes will take them through the end of May. Episodes without an audience were allegedly taped.
*Family Feud: Production for the current season ended last year. Production for the upcoming Fall 2020 season has been suspended through at least April 6th. Episodes without an audience were taped and those should air September/October 2020.
*Celebrity Family Feud: Production for the upcoming summer season ended several weeks ago.
*Let’s Make A Deal: Production for the current season ended last year. Production for the upcoming Fall 2020 season has not begin and no tape dates were publicly announced yet. Those presumably would have been fairly soon. We’ll keep a look at this.
*25 Words or Less: Production for the current season ended last year. Production of the Fall 2020 season was supposed to begin in April 2020. There’s no word on when they will begin, if this is delayed, or if they were forego a live audience.
*Who Wants to be a Millionaire: Production of the first season occurred this previous weekend without an audience.
*Press Your Luck: Production for the second season ended in January. No interruption is expected.
*Card Sharks: Production of the second season has been suspended. No word on when it will resume or if they will forego a live audience.
*The $100,000 Pyramid: Production of the upcoming summer season was supposed to begin in mid April in New York City. There is no word if production will be delayed or if they will forego a live audience.
*Beat Shazam: Production for the upcoming summer season ended several weeks ago. No delays are expected.
*Holey Moley: Production of the new season has not begun. We’ll check on the show’s status.
*Match Game: Production of the upcoming season ended last year, no delay is expected.
*To Tell The Truth: Production of the upcoming season ended last year, no delay is expected.
*Supermarket Sweep: Production has not begun on the first season. No word when it will begin, if it’s delayed, or if they will forego an audience. There was no public calling for an audience for this program so one may not be necessary.
*Catch 21: Production of the second season was supposed to begin in May/June. No word yet if it’s been suspended or they’ll go without an audience. (Edited this, previously stated for April).
This list also includes shows like America’s Got Talent, American Idol, and American Ninja Warrior which have all been suspended for the time being. ABC has the series Don’t! in the can and can air when they are ready. No word yet on other shows like America Says, Common Knowledge, Get A Clue
