TBS FINALLY Announces Premiere Date For The Cube Season 2
Previously mired in uncertainty, The Cube premieres January 8 on TBS.
The American adaptation of The Cube is one of our favorite imports of late. Dwayne Wade is a great first-time host, and the team working on the show really understood what made The Cube a cult phenomenon. After the first season’s completion, a lot happened, including the disastrous restructuring of properties owned by Warner Discovery. We were convinced for the longest time that The Cube was going to be lost in the chaos and disarray. The second season taped in March of 2022 and sat dormant until today. TBS has announced that The Cube’s second season will premiere on January 8.
Actress (and Dwayne’s wife) Gabrielle Union-Wade and (not Dwayne’s wife) La La Anthony will play the premiere episode for charity. Other celebrity guests will take their changes in the cube, including Shaquille O’Neal, Jimmie Allen and Iman Shumpert. Another new twist to the show is the import of the Trial Run. Once a team reaches the $50,000 game, they can invoke their Trial Run to take a practice attempt at the game once. They must then decide whether to go for it or walk away.
