Ken Jennings and Mayim Bialik to Continue Dual Hosting Roles on Jeopardy
Learn more about what to expect from the new season of Jeopardy.
Jeopardy! has finally decided what to do with their hosting situation and they’ve decided to keep things moving as they are. The show has announced Ken Jennings and Mayim Bialik will continue to host Jeopardy! going forward. Ken will start the season in September, host the first Second Chance tournament, and also the Tournament of Champions. Mayim will host ABC’s Celebrity Jeopardy!, the National College Championship, and other weeks when it fits within her schedule for the Fox sitcom Call Me Kat.
Michael Davies, executive producer of Jeopardy!, outlined some additional things coming soon.
*The summer repeat schedule will be filled with games handpicked by Davies and other producers.
*Starting this Monday Jeopardy! will release a daily three minute recap of the day’s episode on their website, across social media, and with their affiliates. The very wise sports-ification of Jeopardy! continues.
*Jeopardy! is getting a podcast! Starting this Monday the show will launch the Inside Jeopardy! podcast. It will be hosted by producers, including Davies, and will give fans an inside look into everything going on behind the scenes. This Monday’s episode will announce the contestants coming back for the Second Chance tournament. Davies will also share his vision for the franchise’s future including new spin-offs and more (please bring back Rock and Roll Jeopardy!).
Jeopardy! hasn’t been this exciting in a long time and we’re excited to see what the new season brings. Both Ken and Mayim have done a good job and it makes sense to keep things going this way. I’m most excited to hear about any potential spin-offs coming. As I mentioned earlier…any way they can bring back Rock and Roll Jeopardy! I’m in favor of. There’s also talk of a pop culture-focused version and potentially the return of Sports Jeopardy!, so who knows what may come this season. Read the show’s full update here.
