Keke Palmer Named Host of Password
Password is coming back this summer. Find out who's hosting the show plus a few format details.
According to a Deadline exclusive, the new host of Password has been found. Actress and television personality Keke Palmer will front the revival of the classic word game for NBC this summer. Jimmy Fallon will produce. While not hosting as originally assumed, Fallon will appear on each episode as one of the two celebrities. Palmer is staring in the upcoming movie Nope from Jordan Peele.
Each episode sees teams made up of a celebrity and contestant try to guess words using one-word clues. From what we’ve been hearing you should expect to see a very classic version of Password played. It seems to be going back to the original 60s rules for the most part with no mention of puzzles or any of the Million Dollar Password elements. No word on the prize yet but we’ve heard nothing giant and very inline with the tone of the show, which is being billed pretty heavily as a comedy game show.
The Showrunner is John Quinn who is behind Press Your Luck and Let’s Make A Deal so the show is in great hands there. This is the first version of Password since CBS’s Million Dollar Password in 2008.
Eight hour-long episodes have been ordered. No debut date has been set yet but NBC previously announced it will be showing up this summer so watch out.
