ABC Revives To Tell The Truth

Anthony Anderson hosts the panel game show revival.

Hot off the major success of Celebrity Family Feud, ABC is going back into the Fremantle game show library. The network will be reviving the classic panel game show To Tell The Truth hosted by Anthony Anderson, star of the network’s sitcom Black-ish. Featured on the show’s panel will be game show legend Betty White and actress Nene Leakes. The series will run for six episodes.

Each episode sees a panel of four celebrities will question three people, all of which claim a certain identity. Only one is telling the truth and the panel has to discover which one it is. Anthony Anderson’s mother, Doris, will be the official scorekeeper and ask questions of her own. If you saw her on Family Feud, you know that you should be excited. Cheche and his Band of Liars will be the houseband. Each episode ends with a show stopping stunt/performance.

The new version of To Tell the Truth is executive produced by Barry Boznick, Toby Gorman, Thom Beers, Jeff Gaspin, George Moll, and Anthony Anderson.

To Tell The Truth first ran in 1956 and was hosted by Bud Collyer. The last version was helmed by John O’Hurley from 2000 to 2001. It was initially reported that Fremantle was shopping a revival of the format back in July of 2014.
