Anderson Cooper to Host CNN Game Show
The political quiz show will air on Presidents’ Day.
Anderson Cooper is getting back into the game show mix. TVNewser reports CNN has ordered a (for now) one-off quiz show hosted by the network’s anchor. The show is in blocking and testing phases at the CNN New York studios right now and is set to debut Presidents’ Day, February 16th. If it works out more episodes will be produced after that. It will be a quiz show focused, for now, on presidential politics.
If you recall during the Sony hacking scandal, it came out that CNN boss Jeff Zucker asked Sony TV if there would be any interest in a political themed Jeopardy! spinoff. While that won’t be happening, CNN will make their own show which will, hopefully, lead to a full series.
Anderson Cooper has been the host of CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360 since 2003. He previously hosted ABC’s popular game show The Mole for two seasons, from 2001 to 2002. He also co-anchors CNN’s New Year’s Even special with Kathy Griffin every year, and had a self-titled syndicated talk show from 2011 to 2013.
