If they can't beat him, though, they'll leave with nothing. Can the team take away one of the biggest paydays in the show's history? You aren't going to want to miss this. This past week Channel 4 debuted their newest afternoon quiz show 5 Minutes to a Fortune. The game, hosted by Davina McCall, sees a team, face five rounds that test their mental and logic skills while facing a 15-foot hourglass containing the team's bank. One player, the Time Keeper, will allot any amount of time from the time bank to complete the round. If the Game Player cannot successfully answer five questions within the time set, the hourglass will turn and their money will drain. It's a fun, unique show with an interesting and visually impressive gimmick that works well. It's essentially a trivia version of The Cube. Hard to go wrong with that. For this week's Weekend Replay we have a show many of our readers have probably not seen: Channel 4's new quiz show The Common Denominator. In the past we've joked that it's, essentially, the poor man's Only Connect. You're given two items (either two words, two pictures, or a picture and a word) and you must find the link. While it is similar they've done enough to differentiate the shows. We're very excited to feature BuzzerBlog reader Daniel Peake this week. Dan beat the competition and is just six Common Denominators away from £10,000. He has 45 seconds to do it or he risks leaving with nothing. Can be become just the second ever to win? As always, Who Wants to be a Millionaire has released its weekly trailer giving fans a preview of what's to come. While many of these tend to give away the biggest winner of the week, some are so good that I can't hide it from you. It looks like one of our contestants, Dave, goes pretty far and stands a shot at seeing the million dollar question. For reference we have not had an in-play million dollar question in five years. Likewise, though, we have not had anyone miss the $500,000 question since 2004. Will either of these finally happen? We've also got a preview of another contestant to watch: trivia buff Paul Reese. Click here to see both previews and let us know what you think.

We had quite a few people asking for the clip so, of course, we have to show it. This week Millionaire is bringing back the Crystal Ball lifeline which lets contestants see what the dollar value for the question is before answering. This can help them decide to either Jump the Question, answer, or maybe Ask the Audience. Our contestant, Donna Ubriaco from Spring Valley, NY, had an interesting situation today and has earned a place in Millionaire history. Her question asked what phrase, "is a common yet fun way to ask if someone is all set to go?" Not sure, she Asked the Audience. A very, very rare thing happened. This past Tuesday featured a very exciting episode of The Chase. Our contestant, Larry, was the sole surviving member of the team and managed to take £60,000 away from the Chaser, Mark Labbett, and into the prize fund. To win this all Larry has to do is outrun Mark one last time in the Final Chase. £60,000 would be the highest amount won by a civilian team and the highest amount won by a single contestant, civilian or celebrity, ever. Can Larry do it? It's an extremely exciting round, a memorable moment, and why we continue to say The Chase is the best quiz show on TV anywhere today. If you watch Who Wants to be a Millionaire today you'll see Brandon Saunders, a sophomore at the Polytechnic Institute of NYU from Holliswood, NY. Brandon kept his appearance on the show a surprise to his grandmother who was in the audience that day, so she was excited as you can imagine. Even more touching is that Brandon is donating a portion of his winnings to his grandmother for a much needed surgery, so we're all wishing him as much luck as we can. We'll tell you how he does tomorrow, but here's a funny look at his game today. A pretty normal question about a cable channel is asked and Brandon has to ask the audience. The results could not have been better if you scripted them. Click here to watch the moment and to let us know what you thought of Brandon's game, if you watched.
