Best of 2013: We Remember What a Million Dollar Question Looks Like

Our relationship with Who Wants to be a Millionaire here is interesting.  I love the show, I love Meredith Vieira and think Cedric the Entertainer is doing fine, and I love the current format now in its fourth season.  However, it's generous to say we were becoming restless waiting for someone to win the million, let alone reach the question.  It's more accurate to say we were pulling our hair out screaming nearly every year and losing the will to care each new season.  We've been over ten years since a winner.  We haven't even seen an actual million dollar question on the daytime version since 2007.  Finally, 2013 was the year this streak was broken and it was done spectacularly.  Click here to watch the big moments and let us know what you think.

Video: You May Really Want to Watch “Millionaire” Next Week

The new season of Who Wants to be a Millionaire has been going on for a bit and it's been a pretty smooth transition over to Cedric the Entertainer as host.  He's got the first-week jitters as anyone does, but let's wait to see how the episodes he tapes a few weeks down the line go.  The reception has been positive, though, so that's encouraging.  However, people don't watch for a host.  They watch for big money moments.  They watch so people can get to Round 2 and play for $100,000; $250,000; $500,000; or maybe see the infamous $1,000,000 question.  Millionaire is teasing a moment that will be going on this week.  You may really want to watch.  No spoilers until inside the story, so watch at your own risk. The Awkward Express on “Wheel of Fortune.” Thumbnail

The Awkward Express on “Wheel of Fortune.”

Last night's episode of Wheel of Fortune provided us with two interesting moments. First, we see contestant Paul land on the Million Dollar Wedge and calling a correct letter in the puzzle. To claim it for the remainder of the game, he must solve the puzzle. From there, it left our heads scratching with an unusual puzzle solve and an awkward three second moment of silence. Later in the game, we finally see the Express wedge being played out. We like the changes the show has made over these years, and the new Express element is welcomed. Jackpot had a good run, but it was time for something new. Click here to watch the video.
