New Internet Game Show “The Experts” Fits Well With the YouTube Format
In 2013, YouTube is proving to be a viable locale for projects good enough to be seen but not large enough to make it on TV. One such project is the new game show The Experts. Launching earlier this week, The Experts is a new internet series created and produced by Jeopardy! and Million Dollar Mind Game champion Alan Bailey and hosted by Michael Shure from The Young Turks. While the prizes may not be staggering and the production values may not rival that of a blockbuster film, it has a fun, core game that makes it a great fit for the user-generated media sector. The show is segmented into five rounds, made available starting on the Monday of a week in individual portions to consume all at once or at your leisure at the show's official YouTube channel. One of the earliest-established tournaments on Jeopardy! will be making its return this Wednesday. Starting on January 30th and concluding on Tuesday, February 12, 2013, the 28th iteration of the Jeopardy! Teen Tournament will show off some of the brightest teenagers in the United States. Every contestant qualified via the Online Test and passed an in-person audition. The tournament follows standard Jeopardy! procedure: Five quarterfinalists advance to the next round along with the four highest-scoring non-winners as Wild Card entrants. The winning semifinalists advance to a two-day "total point" finals situation. After a wildly successful tour earlier this year, canvassing America and in the process selling out theaters, casinos and arenas across the country, The Price Is Right Live gang is at it again. 2013 sees two well-known and professional game show personalities going out on the road again, taking the very true-to-life Price Is Right experience with them. The list of tour dates and locations, which is always subject to change, has been announced. Unlike last year, it is not strictly an American tour, as the entire month of March is devoted to visiting different locations in Canada. These live events, although extremely hard to get called down to actually play, are very fun to watch and participate in from the audience. It's surprising how much fun yelling "lower!" from the audience actually is. If you want to actually watch the show, a ticket purchase is necessary but to have a shot at playing, you must simply show up at the venue and submit your name. If you want to visit a location near you, seeing how quickly the first tour sold out in many locations, I highly recommend getting tickets as quickly as possible. Click here to see the entire touring list, along with a promo video for the show and to let us know if you plan on going and having a good time.

Coming from the "what will they think of next?" department is a new competition program from Discovery Channel revolving around heavy equipment called Machines of Glory. The three-episode series, airing consecutively on December 30th, starting at 6PM, features three teams of professional machine operators using their machines and vehicles in a variety of challenges to make it to the end, claiming the $12,000 prize. Over the three episodes, challenges will be seen such as using backhoes to annihilate piñatas, maneuvering a maze with a backhoe, operating an excavator as precisely as possible and destroying automobiles with dozers. In a genre where there is a lot of sameness, one thing that can safely be said about this program is that it is different and unique. If big machines and implements of destruction are your thing, you might want to tune in. We have a preview below, where the competing crews use a telehandler to launch barrels into stacked objects, Angry Birds style. Click here to take a look at the preview clip.

Our good friends at Family Feud are partnering up with us to do a really fun new contest. To build some excitement for the eleventh season of Feud starting in September, we're giving away a pretty unique gift from the show: a John O'Hurley bobble-head figure (picture coming very soon). John sits in front of the face-off podium holding a question card. It's an item very few people have and if you're a Feud fan, it's pretty neat. And if nothing else your co-workers can get a laugh out of it. I have one sitting in my house now and I'm amazed how many people have come by and said they wanted one (I'm completely serious). If you want one, we have a simple contest. All you have to do is give us the number one answer to this survey. Top fo
