“The Cube” Returns for Sixth Series on March 2nd

Does anyone have what it takes to beat The Cube?  We'll find out in just a few weeks.  ITV has announced the sixth series of the futuristic stunt game hosted by Phillip Schofield will begin on Saturday, March 2nd, at 8:15PM UK (3:15PM ET).  Each episode sees contestants try to complete seven seemingly easy games to win £250,000.  However, nothing is easy once inside The Cube.  The last series ended December 2012.  Olympic gold medalist Mo Farah became the first person to beat The Cube and take home the jackpot.  Can we get the first civilian winner this time?  ITV has recently renewed the series for a seventh series which begins recording next month.  This will take The Cube, which began in August 2009, to over 50 episodes in the course of four years.  Mo Farah's jackpot win was voted the best game show moment of 2012 by BuzzerBlog readers during the Best of 2012 countdown.

MundoFox Renews “Minuto Para Ganar” for Second Season

The Minute to Win It format looks like it has a lot of life left in America.  Just over a week since GSN announced its upcoming revival, MundoFox has announced it is bringing back the Spanish-language version, Minuto Para Ganar, for a second season.  MundoFox is a Spanish-language American broadcast network headquartered in Los Angeles.  Marco Antonio Regil is set to return as host.  Each episode sees a team of contestants play for up to $100,000 by competing in ten simple challenges made from household objects.  Casting is currently underway.  The biggest change this season is production will move from Los Angeles to New York City.  There's no indication if this will affect GSN's version at all, if it was sharing studio space with MundoFox's version to begin with. Click here to let us know what you think of the renewal and to see a small glimpse of this version.

GSN Renews “American Bible Challenge” For a Second Season

In a move that should come as a surprise to absolutely no one, GSN announced today that they are renewing The American Bible Challenge for another season. Whether you enjoy the show or not, it is obviously a smart move. In August, the show premiered to 1.7 million viewers in its initial showing, smashing viewership records for GSN. It continues to keep the #1 spot each week on the network. The second season order that will start airing in 2013 consists of nine more episodes, so it appears the tournament-style format will be kept. Jeff Foxworthy will be coming back as host. Two more episodes of the current season are left to air before The Newlywed Game takes its spot on the schedule. If you or someone you know is interested in being a contestant on the second season, casting information is now available on GSN's website.

Nickelodeon’s “Figure It Out” Begins Sixth Season Next Monday Thumbnail

Nickelodeon’s “Figure It Out” Begins Sixth Season Next Monday

Next Monday, October 15th, the slime will very quickly return to flowing again. After being brought back earlier this year, Figure It Out will begin its second season of the updated version, its sixth season overall, on Nickelodeon. Way back in March, the top kids' cable channel announced that they were reviving the 1990s game show for a new audience of children. The new edition, now hosted by Jeff Sutphen, premiered in June and did very well for the network in its 7PM ET timeslot. According to the network, during the 40 episode season it ranked as the top program in its time slot with viewers aged 9-14 over all TV. It also averaged 2.1 million total viewers, which isn't bad for any cable program. Click here to read about some of the well-known names now appearing on the new season.
