Ratings Report: Syndies Hit More Season Highs, “Family Feud” Soars Even Higher

The week of January 7th was a great time to be a syndicated game show. Just about every first-run program hit a season high with their ratings this week, putting them all in great standing. Wheel of Fortune stayed the pack leader this week, logging an average of over 11.8 million viewers this week, giving them a 7.6 household rating. That's one-tenth of a rating point more than the previous high and is over 800,000 viewers higher than last week's viewership. Jeopardy! is ringing in for joy as well, as its previous high this season was just over 9.9 million viewers. This week, they accounted for almost 10.5 million viewers coupled with a 6.8 rating. The Sony squad is happy to hear that, I'm sure. Click here to read about the numbers for other shows this week, like Family Feud, Millionaire and Newlywed Game.

Ratings Report: Season Highs Across the Syndicated Board, “Feud” Nearly to 5.0

After a lackluster Thanksgiving report last week, the ratings for the week of November 26, 2012 are certainly worth cheering over. Every single show reported a very good viewership number compared to the rest of the season. Wheel of Fortune bounced back nicely, gaining almost 2 million viewers and a full rating over last week. Wheel clocked in with nearly 11.9 million viewers and a 7.5 household rating, beating out mainstay Judge Judy as the number one first-run syndicated show for that week. Jeopardy!, its companion, did very well also. Click here to read numbers for that, plus all of the other syndicated game shows, Take It All and Newlywed Game.

Ratings Report: Turkey Time Erodes Viewership, “Beat the Chefs” is the Most Rotten Egg

The moral of this week's syndicated ratings report: People are too busy eating turkey and spending time with family to devotedly watch TV. Ratings are in from the week of November 19, 2012, the week which included Thanksgiving here in the states. Of course, these numbers shouldn't be taken too close to heart, since programming around these times of year are generally down. Wheel of Fortune lost 1.3 million viewers and almost a full ratings point over last week's record high, coming in with just under 10 million viewers and a 6.3 household rating. Click here to read about the rest of the less-than-stellar ratings, including how far Beat the Chefs has fallen.

Ratings Report: No Syndies But “Price” & “Deal” Up, “Figure It Out” & “Newlywed” Not Thumbnail

Ratings Report: No Syndies But “Price” & “Deal” Up, “Figure It Out” & “Newlywed” Not

It's Tuesday afternoon, so it's time for the weekly feature at BuzzerBlog, the ratings report. Notably absent this week will be the ratings for the syndicated programs. The ratings this week would have been for the week of October 29th, however Superstorm Sandy got in the way causing much of the East Coast to preempt shows with local coverage. If less than 90% of markets air a national show for that week, Nielsen usually does not release the numbers so we will have no data for that week. However, as we mentioned on the site earlier today, congratulations to Family Feud who is reporting another record shattering, knocking down a viewership bar set in the Ray Combs era. We still have some cable and rare CBS games news to share with you, however. Click here to read about them!
