“Who Wants to be a Millionaire” and “The Chase” Begin New Seasons Today
Game show fans in both the US and UK have new seasons of great quiz shows to look forward to. In America, one of the year’s more eagerly anticipated shows is today’s Who Wants to be a Millionaire. Cedric the Entertainer will take over as host, replacing the incredibly popular Meredith Vieira who left after eleven seasons in 2012. Basically nothing is changing about the show. The set, the questions, the game play, and the money are all the same from the last few years. We’ll just be getting a new tone and feel with Cedric. Very curious to see how this goes. We wish him all the best. Let us know what you think of him.
Take a look at a preview below, in case you haven’t seen it. Click here to visit Millionaire‘s website and check for stations and times. I’ve noticed and heard several stations are starting to double-run the show so we’ll see what effect that has on the ratings. It certainly helped Family Feud.
Then today at 5:00PM UK (12:00PM ET), ITV’s The Chase returns for new episodes after a brief hiatus. Bradley Walsh returns as host as contestants try to win tens of thousands of pounds by beating one of the four Chasers. Mark Labbett, Anne Hegerty, Paul Sinha, and Shaun Wallace all return. The US version (on GSN) has been great but there’s still few things better than the original so if you have a chance be sure to check it out.
