“Wheel of Fortune” Launches Online Auditions

I’m sure many of you want to be contestants on Wheel of Fortune.  Do you want the chance to be on the show and spin for $1,000,000 but can’t make it to a Wheelmobile event?  You’re in luck.  The show has launched a brand new online audition platform.  A national contestant search, in partnership with Sony’s “Face of the Fan” has begun and lets people anywhere in America audition for Wheel of Fortune.  People can now upload 60 second audition videos to the search’s website for the producers to look at.  Entrants should describe themselves, why they love Wheel of Fortune, and why they’d make a good contestant.  If your video is selected, you’ll get the chance to audition when the show’s final auditions come to an area near you.

“I am constantly asked how people can become contestants on Wheel of Fortune, especially after we have a big winner on the show, like our recent million dollar solve,” said Harry Friedman, Executive Producer of Wheel of Fortune. “While the ‘Wheelmobile’ and our contestant team will continue touring the country, there are only so many places they can go in a limited amount of time. Face of the Fan is the perfect platform for giving more people a chance at big money.”

Adults aren’t the only ones able to enter.  There’s a separate teen search for people ages 13-17.  Want to be noticed?  Here are some suggestions from the show: speak up, look alert, be concise, be natural, have fun and smile. Some don’ts: don’t tell the contestant team that this is on your bucket list, everyone does; and don’t forget to watch your video to make sure the lighting is correct and the sound is clear.

More tips: Chug a Red Bull, get some good lighting and a nice microphone. Show them you’re energetic and that you mean business.

Now, when are they going to allow the puzzle solving portion of the audition to be online? I was excited when I saw this because I thought that was what was being put online, not just the opportunity to submit a video. Jeopardy! does their test online. Why can’t Wheel?
