CW Renews “Whose Line is it Anyway?”

After just three episodes The CW has renewed its unscripted improv comedy series Whose Line is it Anyway? for the second season on the network and the tenth season overall.  The revival has been both critically acclaimed and commercially successful.  In just two weeks Whose Line has averaged over 2.5 million viewers.  Its debut clocked in the highest unscripted debut for The CW in six years.  Its minuscule week two dip cemented its status as here-to-stay.  The new season will extend the episode order to 24, as opposed to the current ten episode run.  Aisha Tyler stars alongside original cast members Ryan Stiles, Colin Mochrie, and Wayne Brady.

Congratulations to everyone involved.  This is a text book example of how to revive a show and they’re reaping the benefits.  It should also be a nice note to The CW that if they put on series that people beyond teenage girls want to watch, people will tune in.  Celebratory Colin Mochrie gif!
