First Look: Set and Logo of GSN’s “The Chase”

GSN’s adaptation of The Chase has wrapped up and the reviews have been pretty glowing.  Beyond the usual first episode jitters, which every show has, rave reviews came in for Mark Labbett, host Brooke Burns, and the game itself.  Glad to hear they did it well.  While we wait to see footage and see how audiences will react to the format, GSN has emailed us a teaser.  We’re very happy to show you the first look at the set and logo for the new quiz show.  We’re also very happy to say we have eight of the 24 contestants the series will see coming straight from here.  We love when you represent us well so we can’t wait to see how you do.

Until we find out, take a look at the set.  What do you think?

I can not wait for when GSN to debut the chase when ever it debuts!

  • James DeAngelo says:

Can’t wait ’til this premieres on GSN. Glad to have read / hear things seem to have been done right by The Chase as it should be. Let’s hope America embraces it as much as we want them to and things go well so we may someday get a daily version ourselves like in Great Britain. *fingers crossed*

  • Devon says:

The C on set is a neat feature. Looks good so far and the rave reviews is a good sign. I wonder if GSN will do a sneak peak for this too.

  • Clive of Legend says:

I still think Brooke Burns was a bizarre choice of host, but seeing as she was pretty good on Dog Eat Dog I imagine she’ll be fine here. Can’t wait to see it in action.

  • Brad says:

I think a big difference here is that ITV is producing it. Since that network airs the UK version, it was obvious that this one was meant to be as identical as possible. I love the format and hope it gains a decent following on our shores. I can’t wait to see it!

  • Ken in Hong Kong says:

It certainly makes a difference that the Beast likes Brooke.

To Brad: Well, there are a few differences. One big one is that there are only three contestants per show instead of four.

Even though I’m in Hong Kong, no one wants this show to take off in the States more than I do. I want to come home and write questions for the show so badly, I can taste it.

    • Eric in Hong Kong says:

I’m in Hong Kong also and I have the same sentiments. I hope this goes over well in the states and I, too, wish I could write for it. I just hope there will be a regular and reliable way to watch the show from here.

    • Brad says:

Thanks, Ken. That’s a difference I didn’t know about. Anyway, Brooke may or may not turn out to be a good host. Let’s not forget that although it was a minor segment overall, there was a trivia round at the end of each “Dog Eat Dog” episode. Brooke Burns certainly would not have been my first choice, though.

  • Matt says:

I’m in the minority but i always thought Brooke did a GREAT job hosting Dog Eat Dog and I’m VERY excited to see her host The Chase!!

  • Andrew L. Budny says:

Set looks good and I am glad to have Mark as a chaser. Would love to see a few more but that’s OK. I have some reservations about Brooke Burns as the host, Dog Eat Dog was OK but I preferred the UK version which aired on BBC America ten years ago with Ulrika Johnson myself. But I am willing to give her a chance with this, though Bradley Walsh would have been a better fit IMHO.

    • Josh says:

Ulrika’s last name is actually spelled Jonsson, for the record. She is a legit Swede, born and raised in Stockholm. ;)

  • James E. Parten says:

I look forward to the US version of “The Chase”–like so many of the other correspondents above.

I don’t think that Brooke Burns was that bizarre a choice for a US hostess.
Granted, it’s been ten years since we saw her as a hostess of a game show. But she did well hosting “Dog Eat Dog” for two summers on NBC.

There may not be quite the same possibility of sudden, hilarious breakdowns (as has happened before with Bradley Walsh). So, the writers might not be looking for opportunities to cause her to burst out in a fit of the giggles.
But she (on “Dog Eat Dog”) and Bradley Walsh both display a sort of “cheerleaderly” quality that is endearing, and different from the demeanor expected of American game show hosts.
If she still has it after this much time, then she might work well.

Here’s hoping for good things–and high ratings!

  • Poochy.EXE says:

Am I the only one who didn’t really like Brooke Burns on Dog Eat Dog? She was tolerable, but I wouldn’t call her good. It constantly felt like she was just reading from a teleprompter. I’d call her robotic, but even Hatsune Miku is more expressive. Although that may have been the fault of the show’s producers trying to clumsily shoehorn in Weakest Link-esque voting comments and the “it’s time to choose a loser” catchphrase.

    • Clive of Legend says:

She was fairly robotic, but unlike most modern American hosts it felt like she actually enjoyed being there. It’s been a decade since the show was on, so I imagine that she’ll have grown significantly as a presenter since then.

  • Bob Porrazzo says:

I wonder though if there will be those kinds of questions that sent Bradley into fits of laughter, which have become YouTube favorites that will give blonde Brooke Burns a case of the giggles…Fanny Schemlar anyone?!?!?!

  • Wow, that’s what I was looking for, what a material! present here at this blog, thanks admin of this web site.

  • BJ says:

Is Mark as large as Brook? The set is awesome!
