The media machine is starting to churn for GSN’s biggest hit to date, The American Bible Challenge. On Friday evening, Jeff Foxworthy and his program were featured in an admittedly interesting piece on NBC’s news magazine Rock Center with Brian Williams. Harry Smith reports on the origins of the shows, its success, host Foxworthy, the new addition of choir leader Kirk Franklin and the real good that this show is doing. Even if you’re not a super fan of the show, the piece is worth looking at to get a behind-the-scenes perspective on the show that took all TV analysts by surprise. Season two of Bible Challenge premieres Thursday, March 21st at 9PM ET. The feature is embedded below.

VERY COOL piece! I love Foxworthy’s down to earth attitude about hosting the show and sharing candidly about his faith in God.

  • Chris says:

I have to give the show a lot of credit for what it has accomplished. With previous shows about the Bible not doing very well at all, I did not see this as being a big hit. I am happy to be proven wrong. Congratulations to all associated with the program!

Just awesome! Praise the Lord and pass me the remote.

  • Glenn says:

Well done…and if the previews are to be believed….they have a Catholic and Jewish team…although they seem to be approaching Hot potato turf with the outfits.
