ABC Casting For New “Mystery Reality” Competition Program

All of the fans who clamor for more of ABC’s cult competition series The Mole may want to listen up to this one. ABC is partnering with Anthony E. Zuiker, the creator and producer of the CSI: Crime Scene Investigation series and 51 Minds Entertainment, producers of Ton of Cash, The Surreal Life and its million spin-offs for a new competition program. ABC has put out a casting call, searching for people who fancy themselves to be “armchair detectives” or “perceptive problem solvers.” The show will pit contestants against one another, competing against others trying to get to the bottom of a given task. The program looks to bring elements together of two mystery-based programs: The Mole, a reality game the casting call cites that revolved around finding a saboteur in a group of players that ran in the early 2000s (and one season in 2008) and had a tight fan following – just not enough to continue for very long – and the hit CSI: drama series airing on CBS. Any person over the age of 21 interested in competing should visit RealityWanted to sign up. We’ll keep an eye on this show and report more here at BuzzerBlog as we learn more about it.

I absolutely LOVE The Mole, and I wish it kept running. And I’m not a fan of CSI, but for some reason I play the computer games, so when this show airs, I will deffinatly be checking it out

  • Marko Polo says:

Detectives? Problem solvers? Sounds like a sequel to “Murder in Small Town X”.

  • Scott says:

The Mole was fantastic and I still miss it. ABC should’ve given it another chance.

On the other hand, I hate CSI. Personally, I think the acronym should stand for Crummy, Stupid and Idiotic.

As a result, I’ve got mixed feelings about how this show will turn out. If it ends up being more like The Mole and less like investigating gory blood & murder scenes that CSI is often known for, then I think I’ll enjoy it. Otherwise, count me out.

There are enough bloody investigation/murder-like dramas on TV networks these days.

I absolutely love crime & mysteries. Pretty much all I watch during the week. I live in Louisiana and my husband and friends know that I am extremely into it and opionated.
