Video Replay: “The Price Is Right” Starts 2013 With a Double Showcase Win
It seems like a lot of game shows, domestically and abroad, are having some pretty momentous occasions as 2012 ends and 2013 begins. Yesterday morning, The Price Is Right added their name to the list. Immediately after getting called to come on down, contestant Mark Belfield lost his chance at a computer set playing Double Prices, but rebounded with a $1,000 win on the Big Wheel. As the bigger winner, he had the opportunity to bid on the first showcase, which contained a cappuccino maker, a living room group with a big screen high-definition television and a 2013 Hyundai Veloster. Jumping on the chance to win a car, he opted to bid on the showcase, eventually coming to the decision on bidding $25,620. His opponent’s showcase bid was judged first, topped off with a South African safari. She was off by more than $15,000, giving Mark a window of opportunity.
Drew revealed the actual retail price of his showcase was $25,643 – a margin of only twenty-three dollars, making him within the $250 window to win both showcases! The two showcases combined were worth almost $63,000, giving Mark a grand total of $64,687! It’s not easy to make it within the $250 target to be a double showcase winner, let alone within $25. Congratulations to Mark on a very impressive win and on being the second double showcase winner of Price‘s 41st season! Check out the video of the great win below from CBS.
