ABC Greenlights Eight Episodes of “Bet On Your Baby”
ABC has officially ordered eight episodes of the new Electus and 5×5 Media-produced game Bet On Your Baby. Yes, the actual title is Bet On Your Baby. The series, hosted by Melissa Peterman (CMT’s The Singing Bee) sees five families with toddlers between the ages of two and three-and-a-half compete in individual, self contained games. There won’t be baby battles. Parents will have to predict their toddler’s next moves in different scenarios. The families will return for the final “college round” where one will win $50,000 towards their child’s college education. Bet On Your Baby will debut in April.

FTA: “There won’t be baby battles.”
I’m out.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe a somewhat similar concept was tried back in the mid ’90s with a show called Baby Races. However, I think the main difference between the two was the fact that Baby Races was mostly played for fun and laughs rather than competitively.
*facepalm*
The collective stupidity from the major networks when it comes to game shows is breathtaking.
Since Melissa Peterman is hosting this show , does that mean The Singing Bee is canceled?
Yes it does unfortunately.
Another game show with an eight-week longevity. When, oh when, will we get another game show that will stand the test of time with the Big Six?
This idea isn’t terrible. Obviously, kids are unpredictable and that’s the point. The real problem here is that it’s on ABC! THAT fact is ridiculous! It should be on cable definitely…TBS, Comedy Central, even GSN would work, but it does NOT deserve to be on network TV. Ridiculous!
Melissa Peterman is looking a lot more plastic-y than I remember.
…Really, ABC? Did you read the pitch for this game? Out loud? You couldn’t have. You clearly couldn’t have. This is probably the most blatant exploitation of our youth since “Our Little Genius”…and we all know how THAT turned out!
Six-episode season that will not be renewed. Called it.
ABC has programmed the show for Saturday nights, meaning the “Cancellation Bear” has already devoured it.
