Top 10 Shows of 2012: Number 4
This is what you voted as the fourth best new show of 2012. As we said previously 2012 seemed to be the year of the revivals. We’ve already had many on this countdown like Match Game, Hip Hop Squares, and Blockbusters with more to come. With new formats failing consistently it makes sense to go back into the well and see what’s worked best in the past. Beyond format revivals we saw genre revivals because of this new game show surge. One in particular was the rebirth of the kid’s game show. This was well represented by your fourth best new show of 2012.
NUMBER FOUR: FIGURE IT OUT
Nickelodeon first launched Figure It Out in 1997. Hosted by Summer Sanders the series was a kids version of popular panel games like What’s My Line, To Tell The Truth, and other similar ones. It ended its initial run in 1999. However, 13 years later, a new series of the show was announced out of the blue. The new edition was hosted by Jeff Sutphen who hosted Nick’s other kids game BrainSurge as well as ABC’s 101 Ways to Leave a Game Show. The new version was the same exact thing as the old one down to a similar looking set. The series was a big hit for Nick with millions tuning in.
Take a look back at one of the more memorable moments of the new edition. More than anything it shows the great talent that Jeff Sutphen is and, hopefully, if he wants to stay in the game show world he can get some new gigs. He deserves it.
What did you think of the show?

I miss 101 Ways to Leave a Game Show.
Darn you ABC, not showing us the remaining 76 ways to leave a game show…
Jeff was a great host. Reminded me of Todd Newton actually.
Actually, in the final round of 101 ways, up on the tower, he reminded me more of WWE superstar “The Miz”.
Must have been the lighting…
