“The Price is Right” and “Let’s Make A Deal” Celebrate Christmas Starting December 18th
It’s (shockingly) almost Christmas and holiday specials are coming upon us. As always CBS’s daytime game show block, The Price is Right and Let’s Make A Deal, will be celebrating the holidays with special episodes filled with big cash, cars, and trips.
Starting December 18th and lasting through Monday, December 24th, The Price is Right will deck the halls for five special Christmas themed episodes. The set will be decorated to commemorate the occasion. Contestants also get into the spirit by donning Santa hats, reindeer ears, and Christmas sweaters. Holiday themed prizes will extend through these specials culminating on December 24th with the conclusion of Price‘s month-long “Holiday Gift Idea of the Day,” where the first prize of the day has been specially chosen to help viewers find the perfect gift. These include smartphones, jewelry, a new BBQ grill and a new laptop. Rob Wilson, winner of Price‘s male model search, will return for these. To conclude the month Price will also bring back its “Best of” episode on December 31st featuring the return of some of the most popular prizes of the year.
Let’s Make A Deal will also be getting into the Christmas action on December 24th. It’s a special family edition, as Wayne Brady will select families from the audience to play for prizes like trips to Hawaii and New York City, cars, gift cards and VIP tickets to a hit show. It all ends in the Big Deal of the Day worth $27,840.
We say it often but few shows do themed episodes better than The Price is Right, so we’re looking forward to these. Anyone else?

George: But, I heard him exclaim as he drove out of sight, “This showcase can be yours to all, and to all a good night!, if The Price Is Right”.
Will TPIR have a Christmas tree as a IUFB this year?
We’ve done it before!
Maybe I’m crazy… but all the contestants now wearing wireless mics on Price?
Im not sure. But Im guessing those transmitters on those clip ons, are used to pick up Drew’s mic. Im not sure.
Yup – wireless mics are added during the stage resets.
Looks to me that the show is transitioning to 5.1 Surround sound. The mics on Contestants row and showcases are still used along with the wireless mics.
