ITV’s “Millionaire” Returns with Live “I’m A Celebrity…” Special November 9th
ITV’s iconic quiz show Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? is coming back this month with another live celebrity special. Millionaire is holding a live edition featuring contestants from ITV’s I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! on November 9th at 9:00PM UK (4:00PM ET). Contestants will sit in the infamous Hot Seat trying to win £1,000,000 split between their chosen charity and the home prize pool which can go to one lucky viewer.
Playing Millionaire will be funnyman Joe Pasquale and former England cricketer and much-loved TV and radio presenter Phil Tufnell, husband and wife duo comedian Vic Reeves and model Nancy Sorrell, and music mogul David Gest with TV presenter Jennie Bon. Chris Tarrant hosts.
Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? has presented predominately live celebrity episodes since December 2010. They briefly brought back civilian episodes, dubbed “The People Play” specials, in Summer 2012. Since switching to live celebrity episodes Millionaire has averaged over 4 million viewers…an improvement over civilian editions. The last episode, a “School’s Out” special, aired August 2012.

The live celebrity specials are o.k., but I hate that the third team almost never gets a fair chance to play. Last time, for example, Dermot and his daughter made it to 50k with ask the audience still in play but then the end of show klaxon sounded. The way they were playing, I seriously think they could of easily been the year’s first 150k winners had they not been cheated out of the game. Let’s just hope the third team doesn’t get cheated of a potential big win this time around.
Positively thinking, let’s hope that the first team or two do so well that we don’t have time for the third team. :-)
