Drew Carey Celebrates His 1,000th Episode of “The Price Is Right” Friday
Time sure flies when you’re the host of Daytime TV’s most popular game show. This Friday, December 7th, Drew Carey will be celebrating his 1,000th episode as host of CBS’s The Price Is Right. Carey’s first episode aired on October 15th, 2007 and he is now in the middle of his sixth season with the reins of this staple of Americana. Viewership has stayed strong during Carey’s tenure, and his superiors are still happy with his work. Angelica McDaniel, Senior Vice President of CBS Daytime, said, “The CBS Daytime family is so fortunate to have him and grateful for his contribution to the continued success of the #1 show in Daytime.” Executive Producer Mike Richards said that “Drew is truly the ideal host for The Price is Right. He’s genuine, funny and loves to see the contestants win. 1,000 episodes is an amazing accomplishment…”
As part of the celebration Friday, Drew will nearly go Oprah Winfrey and select some of his “favorite things” as prizes on the show. Some items up for grabs include trips to his favorite vacation spot of Brazil, a home theater system stocked with some of his favorite films and a Vespa motor scooter like the one he owns. To put the frosting on this cake, one showcase will contain a BMW automobile selected by the host. Lots of excitement will be felt on Friday with many special prizes up for grabs. Drew’s 1,000th show celebration is one day of The Price Is Right not to miss out on.

Great for Drew!! I’ve enjoyed the show SO much since he took over! He always looks like he’s having a ball!
Already? Wow. I can’t believe it’s been six seasons, 1,000 episodes already, and hopefully another 1,000 for Drew!
1,000 episodes?! Wow! I remember TPIR celebrated Drew’s 500th episode back in March 2010. It feel like it was yesterday. How time gong so fast.
Met Drew in his second season when I was a contestant on the show. He was so kind and funny. I think he has made the show his own now and is doing an awesome job! Love ya, Drew!
Drew has come a long way since his nervous debut back in 2007. Five years later and nearly 100 pounds lighter, he’s clearly made “Price is Right” his own show and put new life and energy into a legendary franchise. It’s even made me forget who that other guy was (LOL) before Drew took over… y’know, the one who beat up comedian Adam Sandler and got all mad about Drew offering gourmet steaks and leather coats as prizes?
You’re thinking of BOB BARKER! He’s celebrating his 89th birthday today.
