Video Weekend Replay: Ron Freshour Wins $250,000 on “Millionaire”
We’ve been talking about it all week, but if you missed it Ron Freshour from Austin, Texas, became the newest giant winner on Who Wants to be a Millionaire. Ron took away $250,000 from the Meredith Vieira-hosted quiz show on Thursday’s episode. Ron is the second quarter million dollar winner of the 2012-2013 season. His question asked: “With a whopping 15 in total, what is the most common last name among those with stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame?” Ron correctly answered “Williams.” Did you not get a chance to see the big win on television? You’re in luck. We’ve got the moment, in HD, below. What do you think?

It was a great win, but at the same time not the hardest question in the world.
It seems like $250,000 is the new tops on the show
Not the hardest question, I agree, but one that does make you really think and come up with names to fit the category. I had it narrowed down to Smith and Williams because I could only come up with four Lees (Ruta I am not sure has a star) and about five Andersons. Williams I busted out about 10 and surmised that I don’t hear Smith used as a last name by entertainment personalities enough. Hard, no. Tricky though in making sure you covered enough bases in each name, yes.
His exuberance really reminds me of the Doug Van Gundy win. I think this is my favourite moment of the new series.
What happened to Ron Freshour? They never aired the next day when he was playing for $500,000. And has ANYONE EVER won 1 mil? I don’t believe that it is possible.
