GSN Renews “American Bible Challenge” For a Second Season
In a move that should come as a surprise to absolutely no one, GSN announced today that they are renewing The American Bible Challenge for another season. Whether you enjoy the show or not, it is obviously a smart move. In August, the show premiered to 1.7 million viewers in its initial showing, smashing viewership records for GSN. It continues to keep the #1 spot each week on the network. The second season order that will start airing in 2013 consists of nine more episodes, so it appears the tournament-style format will be kept. Jeff Foxworthy will be coming back as host. Two more episodes of the current season are left to air before The Newlywed Game takes its spot on the schedule. If you or someone you know is interested in being a contestant on the second season, casting information is now available on GSN’s website.

Good renewal. I obviously saw this coming. It will most likely not start until around March. The Newlywed Game’s new episodes (not that it matter to too many people) should run through the end of February, if they do air at four a week (8-10PM)
Still crossing fingers for The Pyramid…
I agree, The Pyramid should get a second season. It’s doing well and we waited three long years for this to come to fruitition. It’s a shame that CBS didn’t pick this up when they had the chance and it would be stupid for GSN not to renew this. It’s a cult favorite for game show fans.
In the words of Johnny Test, “Woah, didn’t see that coming.”
Just kidding. It was obvious they were going to renew it, based off that 1.7 million number. At least it’s telling GSN execs that the people who watch their network want to watch actual GAME SHOWS, instead of reality garbage.
Yeah, you don’t see Chefs, Love Triangle, Unstapled or Improv renewed.
Though, GSN will try dumb ideas like them again (all in all, Chefs was the better production over the three I just listed, and skewed the most “fun and game” too)
I personally thought Improv-a-ganza was a perfectly good show, just on the wrong network. Unfortunately, Comedy Central’s too busy with dull fart jokes and making “Ow My Balls” from Idiocracy a reality to get a third show that’s actually funny. (The two existing funny shows being The Daily Show and The Colbert Report, of course.)
True. Improv-a-Ganza and Beat the Chefs could have worked very well actuallu for other networks.
Love Triangle’s production was awful though
I also like Futurama…
Ah, yes, I forgot Futurama, sorry. Better make that three funny shows.
and the only reason they are there is cause they were there before the current wave of “dull fart jokes”
Well everybody, looks like American Bible Challenge will be wiped from GSN’s schedule starting the week of October 22-28. The shows’ last episode airs Thursday, October 18th. Then it gets replaced Thursday night by The Newlywed Game, Saturday at 6pm by Minute to Win It, then ‘Bible’ is also wiped from Sunday nights. 5th Grader airs from 6pm-10pm, and The Newlywed Game repeats air from 10pm-12am
the worse show i have ever seen please take it off
