“Deal or No Deal” Asks You to “Show Me the Mummy” This Halloween; “Deal” Goes HD
We haven’t had a themed week on Channel 4′s Deal or No Deal in a long time. It’s almost Halloween so they’re getting ready to decorate the set, the contestants, and to give away £250,000 during the special “Show Me the Mummy” week. Not only that: Deal will finally be going HD.
Starting Monday, October 29th, the show will transform in a mummy-filled cave, with all the contestants wrapped and bound. Noel Edmonds will preside as “head mummy” during the week of special Halloween shows which will be broadcast for the first time ever in HD. As always for themed weeks…there is a twist.
Winning a side game could give the contestants a holiday, but losing means the Banker gets to look inside his or her box. Will we find the sixth £250,000 winner? Or are we bound to find another member of the 1p club?
The show has released a trailer for “Show Me the Mummy” week. Check it out below.

Are you all hinting one or the other will occur this upcoming week? I really hope there’s a big win coming soon. No one has won more the governor (26,000 pounds) since the 2001th episode over 2 months ago. The main reason why I’m watching that show is in anticipation for a male to finally win the quarter-million. Something tells me Richie might be the man to do it. He knows the odds of the game in and out and if he has a significant back-up going into 5 box and is allowed to go 1 box at a time he’ll go for it.
I still don’t understand how this version has lasted this long in the UK, but we’ve been without Deal here in the US for almost 5 years now…
The difference is that the UK version focuses on the game play, not the sob stories. You do get the stories, too, but it doesn’t feel like it’s exploitative. And the pacing is much better. The commercial-free aspect means that we don’t have to go forever and ever between box opens. It’s much less “publicity stunt”-driven than the American version.
