Weekend Replay: $39,000 Showcase Up for Grabs on Australia’s “The Price is Right”

While the American version of The Price is Right celebrated its 40th anniversary this past week, the Australian edition is still going strong weeknights on 7.  We had some initial criticisms for the format’s most recent revival…mostly all directed at how cheap the show felt.  However, over the course of the past few weeks, their budget has slowly gained some traction and we can occasionally see some $30,000-plus Showcases.  This week we saw a Showcase worth close to $40,000.  All contestant Nat has to do, after winning the Showdown round by guessing the price of the full Showcase, is stack the six prizes from lowest to highest.  Can she do it and become one of the biggest winners in this version’s history?

Watch and find out.

Showcases that, like this instance, are loaded with expensive stuff most contestants might not actually take (like an $11,000 spa) with a very small $1,899 spread between the first four items and a $9,000+ spread between the “bed set” and spa.

I’ve been following this site for a long time, but even if I hadn’t, the fact the name of the video is “Nat wins the showcase!” means that visitors already know the outcome without needing to watch it happen.

All they need to do now is get a new car for the Showcase.
