The CW’s “Oh Sit!” Picked Up for New Episodes; Now Casting
The CW managed to have a minor summer hit (by their standards) with Oh Sit!. The game, best described as extreme musical chairs, pits contestants against each other as they race around an obstacle course and, as the live band stops playing music, try to reach one of the chairs center stage before they all run out. The day’s winner can receive up to $50,000. It’s ABC’s Wipeout mixed with musical chairs. Oh Sit! performed decently by The CW’s standards and managed to stand as tall as it could above their other programming, and the network has decided to order more episodes.
Oh Sit! is now casting contestants who think they can beat the others and win some big money. The taping will take place in November and December which puts us at a likely late Spring or, again, Summer debut. If you think you have what it takes, click here to visit the casting website and apply. You just need to be over 18, able to get to Los Angeles, and be physically able to cross the obstacle course.
Oh Sit! ran for eight episodes this summer. The series was hosted by Jamie Kennedy and Jessi Cruickshank. While never a blockbuster and averaging just roughly a million viewers, the show managed to stay consistent with a 0.4 key demographic rating, which The CW takes pride in their ability to get. It was their only show to remain consistent on that basis and, for the most part, never fluctuated wildly, ratings wise, from week to week.
Please, Gurin Company, CW, and anyone else involved with the show: get rid of Jamie Kennedy. It’s mindless summer fun that does what it sets out to do, but Jamie is insufferable and drags Jessi down. I have to think you can find someone equally youth oriented and goofy without being obnoious.

I still prefer Wipeout, because the hosts are better, and the obstacles are more interesting.
The camaraderie between the Johns makes the show funny, and now that Jill is returning next season, it’ll be back to the way it was originally. :)
