Pat, Vanna and Alex Renew Contracts Through 2016
With rumors of retirement floating a lot in the game show world in recent months, this should help calm some nerves, at least for a few years. In a press release today, Sony announced that they have renewed the contracts for all three major participants of their two big syndicated game shows for four more seasons. Pat Sajak, Vanna White and Alex Trebek have all renewed their contracts with Sony Pictures Television to keep hosting their shows, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!, respectively, through the 2015-16 season. The last show renewal for these programs came in 2010, renewing the programs through 2014. Harry Friedman, longtime producer for both shows, was quoted as saying, “We are so happy to know we will be keeping our iconic family together.” It should be no shock to anyone that the owners of the top two game shows in syndication want to keep all parts of the success secure for as long as possible.

I’m not surprised to see Pat and Vanna renewing Their contracts, But Alex renewing his surprises me.
That’s what I’m saying. Especially with all his health issues in the last couple years.
But with the renewals…it least gives Sony and CBS a little bit of time to MAYBE (major key word) groom their heir apparents. Especially for J!
How much longer can Pat, Vanna, and Alex keep on doing this?
Wow, Few months ago, Alex mention in a interview that he was thinking about retire from TV after season 30. But now staying in to 2016, I wonder if he’ll still be OK for season 32, especially with his health issues for a past few years.
This means Pat will tie Bob Barker for the 35-year reign.
Shouldn’t Vanna be activating the letters in a hoverround by now?
Vanna is 55, she can still reach the letters. But wonder if the wheel will be raised for Pat to spin for the final spin. That way he dosen’t need to bend over to spin.
I’ve got a great idea for Alex’s successor — Pat Kiernan. Those who remember “Grand Slam” will know him as “the Questioner” who was unseen.
