New Seasons of “The Price is Right” and “Let’s Make A Deal” Begin September 24th on CBS
The final two game shows to launch new seasons will make their Fall 2012 debut today, Monday, September 24th. CBS’s daytime game show block of The Price is Right and Let’s Make A Deal begin their 41st and 4th seasons, respectively. Viewers can expect to see the same fun games they’ve come to love for years along with some added twists and turns. Both shows are receiving minor set upgrades so eagle-eyed fans will notice those. Let’s Make A Deal will launch at least one new game this year as well. The game is called “Money in the Bank”, and you can read about it at the Insider’s Blog by clicking here. The Price is Right started with a gigantic bang last year; they gave away four cars in the first few minutes. It will be interesting to see how they try to top that this year.
Be sure to comment during or after the shows to let us know what you think of each. We’re looking forward to seeing and talking about them just as much as you are. Good luck to both shows this season.

I kind of wish this was posted earlier, so I could have set the DVR before I left the house this morning, but thanks for the heads-up anyway.
…This is much more enjoyable than it was a few years back. Might start a series record of this, though I still wish they’d update the theme and make it less loud.
I laughed for a while during Freeze Frame when, after Drew asked, “Is she right?” someone in the audience loudly shouted, “NO!”
– ZERO? REALLY? ZERO? Not that he’d have a chance after guessing “5″ twice in Lucky Seven, but still, ZERO?
– Great comeback on Plinko there, and 4 out of 5 chips, too! Double Cross looked good, too!
– Looks like that first spot in Contestants’ Row is the lucky spot. Either that or the players just aren’t picking up the hint.
– Really? A bailout on Gas Money? Really?
– Hmm, Safe Crackers already revealed when they get to the door.
– Two lowball bids on the Showcases, one expected (the hybrid) and one unexpected (the Range Rover). Combined with the 2-for-6 show we had today, this seemed to be a lackluster “official” premiere show.
Why do contestants keep wearing mics. I’m tired of those. Is the new mic system being ordered?
There’s a new Mic system? Personally, I prefer the clip-on mics over the standalone hold-in-your-hand mics, but that’s just me.
Also, great Season Premiere for Let’s Make a Deal!
The old microphone system had worn out. So they are temporarily using clip ons until the new microphone system is ordered. The mics should be upgraded. This ain’t Wheel of Fortune!
Am I the only one who noticed the turntable area on TPIR moved a bit more towards the contestants and audience? And with LMAD hitting 50 next year can an appearance by Monty be far off?
Allan – The turntable is always moved up when Lucky $even (and some other games) are being played. Viewers would never know (unless a wild contestant runs around like Monday), but it does. When you visit the show live, it happens all the time.
Just saw the new “Money in the Bank” game on LMAD today (November 1st). Alas, even though they gave 4 easy to answer questions (IMHO). Odds aren’t that great, 2 out of the 5 safes will give you more, one gives you half of your money, and 2 are Zonks… Let’s say you got all 4 questions right (each question is worth $500), then you have $2,000 to risk (and it is all or nothing. Take the $2,000 or try your luck, here are the 5 possibilities…
$0
$0
$1,000
$4,000
$10,000
So if you got to play the game many times, on average your $2,000 would bring back a $3,000 return.
IMHO, not the best game I have seen on LMAD, but at least it is nice to see them trying to add some new things….
