“Jeopardy!” Looking for Military Contestants
If you’re on the the east coast like I am, odds are the season premiere of Jeopardy! is on right now. While the show resumes new episodes with regular contestants, the Alex Trebek hosted quizzer is looking for military contestants for a special week. Jeopardy! has announced an all-new “Salute to the Military” week which will air in 2013. All full-time active-duty military personnel are invited to take the online exam which opens up on Tuesday, October 9th, at 8:00PM ET. You can register at the show’s website by clicking here.
“We want to recognize and pay tribute to the courage and dedication of our country’s men and women in uniform,” said Jeopardy! Host Alex Trebek, a long-time USO supporter. “They continue to serve our country with dignity and nobility under challenging conditions. We’re going to give them a chance to showcase their knowledge during our ‘Salute to the Military’ week, a competition dedicated exclusively to them.” Since 1987, Trebek has participated in 12 USO tours.
You can register for the exam now, and if you pass the exam on October 9th you could be invited to an in-person audition held in late 2012 and early 2013. If you know anyone who is eligible and interested in this, please be sure to pass the information along. The military does an ungodly amount for us, and it’s great to see Jeopardy! salute them like this.
As always, if you have any advice for anyone who hasn’t taken the exam, I’m sure many would love to know. Please be sure to share your testing and audition stories.

Also in the offing are tests centered around viewers in Cleveland and Cincinnati, done in association with their respective affiliates (registration on the same main page as the military test). WIll keep an eagle-eye out for more cities (hint: the password is: BUFFALO), and hope to be able to register…
