GSN Announces Weekly Celebrity Line-Up for “The Pyramid”
I knew that people around here would be very excited for GSN’s revival of The Pyramid which debuted last week, but it’s even better to know that it’s been a big hit for the network’s casual viewers, too. It was averaging over 500,000 viewers and, at last check, had over 170,000 viewers in the key A18-49 demographic. We’re all very happy to see it be such a success and we count on seeing more episodes ordered soon. To keep Pyramid fever going, GSN has announced the weekly celebrity line-ups for the show. Now you know who to expect on what week. If you appeared on the show or you’re waiting to see a specific contestant or celebrity, you’ll want to read on.
Week of September 10: Chandra Wilson (Grey’s Anatomy) vs. Jai Rodriguez (Malibu Country)
Week of September 17: Megyn Price (Rules of Engagement) vs. Lamorne Morris (New Girl)
Week of September 24: Kate Flannery (The Office) vs. Jim O’Heir (Parks and Recreation)
Week of October 1: Joshua Malina (Scandal) vs. Wallace Langham (CSI)
Week of October 8: Melissa Peterman (Baby Daddy) vs. Samantha Harris (Dancing with the Stars)
Week of October 15: Oscar Nunez (The Office) vs. Dot Marie Jones (Glee)
Week of October 22: Aida Turturro (The Sopranos) vs. Nick Turturro (Blue Bloods)
Just a small heads up and a warning, but we heard from multiple people that they shoved Aida and Nick Turturro to the last week, as far back as they could, for very specific reasons. You’ll see. Any grouping in particular you are looking forward to?
We’ve got contestant guest blogs coming soon, so keep posted.

Hmm… could we see a $53,000 winner? “Keep your eye on this spot…”
That quote was first announced by the late great Bob Clayton.
moved back the tutturos for good or bad reasons LOL.
Hopefully they get more episodes looks like a major winner :)
We’ve already been told that there were a couple shows with horrible game play, and that some celebs won’t be on for the full week. If there’s only one week that’s not a full week, it certainly makes sense to put it at the end.
Kind of looking forward to the Melissa vs Samantha week. Hopefully they are both good players.
The week I’m most wanting to get a glimpse of hasn’t changed. I actually recognize and like the celebrities for October 1. All of the other weeks, I recognize 0 or 1 of the 2.
Great to see Pyramid doing so well. If only GSN had put forth the time and effort into making 1 VS 100 as good as The Pyramid, then we would’ve already gotten a 2nd season for that too. :(
I wonder when they’ll get some of the veteran stars that played Pyramid like Betty White, Vicki Lawerance, Ed Begley, Jr. or other stars from the other various Pyramids over the years?
They might eventually be able to get some of the people from Donnymid (say what you will about the formula and execution of his version, they did find some great game players), but I’m thinking most of the celebs from Mr. Clark’s era would either not be up to the challenge, or not willing to re-enter the spotlight. Of course, if I’m wrong, that could be cool. I know one Donnymid player I’d love to see come back is Hal Sparks. He was awesome!
Jason Alexander I think was on Davidson’s and Osmond’s.
I think the Joshua Malina/Wallace Langham week is going to be kick-@$$. :) They both appear to be very smart people, and I think we’ll see some good game play out of them. I hope the Turturros aren’t too bad, but I suppose that could make sense too. Guess we’ll wait and see.
Did anyone catch the episode on Wednesday September 12th? I think they had maybe the worst contestant on any incarnation of Pyramid I’ve ever seen. He passed on multiple categories and didn’t know how to describe things or make logical guesses. Even Mike Richards was like “passing can be a good strategy at times, but other times you just have to dig in.” I wonder how he got through the screening process. It was pretty awful to watch.
My thoughts exactly.
Next year I look forward to a $100,000 tournament played the same way with the Clark and Davidson versions.
Love the new show but have to say that Shandra Wilson is terrible. She constantly giggles when she screws up. I’m sure the contestants are not too happy that she is costing them money. Mike Richards is doing a great job. Great rapport with the contestants and he seems to have a lot of respect for the legacy of the game.
I agree with Ben’s comment about the contestant on 9/12. Worst I’ve ever seen.
