“Wheel” and “Jeopardy!” Come to PS3, Xbox 360 This October

After a successful 2010 release for Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! on the Wii, THQ and Pipeworks are pushing their games onto two more prominent platforms on October 16th: the PlayStation 3 and XBox 360. Wheel and Jeopardy! were released on the PlayStation Store as downloadable games from Sony Online Entertainment in 2008 and 2009, but these are the first releases for the brands from THQ on these two systems. The games will be mostly based around the modeling set up for the Wii versions of the games, but with systematic updates like removing the Mii-like figures for contestants and hosts. The biggest updates come from Wheel, which includes set and gameplay updates to reflect the changes made this past season. For instance, the “½ Car” tags, which debuted permanently this past season, are on the wheel and will be up for grabs as gamers play.

I own both of these games for the Wii and if the developers stick to most of what they did for those games, I would highly suggest picking these up when they come out. The authenticity and attention to detail is impressive.  The mention of “PlayStation Network” on the cover of the PS3 versions indicates that online multiplayer will be available for these, a great feature to promote re-playability and something that was absent from the Wii versions. We have a couple of screenshots for the games below, but for more, check out 360sync.com. Will you be interested in potentially picking these games up?

Now this’ll be worth playing for sure since I’ve got a PS3!!

I agree with you. I hope a video game version of Let’s Make A Deal will come out for both Nintendo Wii and Nintendo .DS featuring Wayne Brady Johnathan Magnum and Tiffany Coyne as Wii characters in the game. Same thing for The Price Is Right for the Wii Nintendo .DS and the PS3. I would like to see all of the pricing games from the past and the present including Card Game, Safecrackers, Grand Game, Make Your Move, Balance Game, etc. on the Nintendo WII, and PS3 Game as well. Same thing for Family Feud 2013 with Steve Harvey as the host in a Nintendo Wii character as well.

It looks like “Wheel” is still using the pre-2011 layout, with the Wild Card on the green $700. They’ve decided to place the other 1/2 Car tag on the pink $450 next to it, meaning there is now a triple-wide area where things can be picked up (WC, 1/2 Car, Featured Prize).

As far as “Jeopardy!” is concerned, my only complaints are the usage of the red-yellow-blue podiums, and the lack of the signature “Enchanted” clue font.

    • Mike says:

Only a true geek would complain about the placement of cardboard or the colors used on a podium. As long as the game’s visuals are mostly authentic, it is bug-free, the gameplay is completely authentic, and the game has long-term playability (a diverse number of games, few repeating puzzles/categories), I will be happy. If the quality of these games is at least on par with THQ’s releases from a few years ago, then both games will be excellent.

Ugh. Pat, Vanna, Alex, and the other Wii-ple look even worse than in the previous games.

  • The Banker's Nephew says:

The more realistic Pat and Alex are freaky. When they were cartoonish they were much better looking.

  • Nicholas Roche says:

I just wish they’d put these hyper-accurate games out for the PC! It’s still a viable platform!

  • Lee Hubbard says:

Wish they waited a year later for Wheel of Fortune, so they could have included the updated set that will debut this fall.

  • Brad says:

I wonder how many questions will be in the “Jeopardy!” game. I have the DS versions of both of these, and there’s only 2500 clues, compared to 8000 “Wheel of Fortune” puzzles. Wheel has much better replay value.

It’s about friggin’ time they made these games for XBox 360! Feeling slighted that ‘Wheel’ & ‘Jeopardy’ were exclusive to Wii and Nintendo DS, I was hoping they would finally get the XBox treatment. Here’s hoping that both will be ‘Better with Kinect’, meaning that you can actually speak letters, puzzle solutions, and Jeopardy! responses with the sound of your voice, like ‘Millionaire’ does (quite well).

  • Drew says:

Just one question, will the xBox360 version allow the use of your avatars to a similiar fashion to Wii’s version with the Miis?

  • Rahmiano says:

    *UPDATE*

the all-new WOF & J! 2012 video games are also coming for the Wii U in November as one of the new “launch titles” games for the console.

  • Danny says:

how do you use your xbox live avatar in this game like it says on the box. We can’t figure it out
