“Millionaire” Season Eleven Audience Tickets Now Available

Millionaire has casted contestants.  The stage is set and ready to go.  It’s time to record the eleventh season of Who Wants to be a Millionaire.  Meredith Vieira returns for a new series of shows debuting in September.  Want to see the show live this August in New York City?  Tickets are now available for the long running quiz show.  Click here to visit the ticketing website.  Just fill out some basic information and choose a date from the drop down menus.  Currently only one date exists but more will appear as soon as days and times are confirmed.  Millionaire will tape from August through November.  It’s been pretty close to ten years since someone has beat the full game and won the million dollars in live game play.  Get to the set and see if you can witness the newest millionaire.  I’ve been there a few times and I plan on going again this year.  It’s a ton of fun and I highly recommend it.  Again, click here for ticketing.

The reason why they have not crowned a natural millionaire on that show for so long is because they make the last two questions impossible to answer. They ask ridiculous stuff like what was a celebrity’s college tuition, stuff that you would only know if you researched it. In many markets it is a daytime show, so they probably can’t really afford to give away a million dollars at once anyway. They might as well rename the show “Who wants to be a Quarter Millionaire?”.

    • Jon says:

      Or the $250,000 question

      • Nick says:

        To both of you:

It is true that sometimes the questions get ridiculous above $100,000 but most of the high level questions were doable this year and could be reasoned out (for instance, the groupon one, or the Washington Crossing the Delaware one or the gargantua question with Rabelais, or the stolen art question, etc…I could name many other questions that were doable). The only one that was ridiculous I thought was about who got arrested for playing tennis in Delaware on a Sunday. Other than that, it was fine.

And to refute your point Coupon Boy, I will say that I understand the frustration but they did forcibly give away the million in 2009. That does prove they can give away the million in daytime (or at least after the last 2 winners in 2003). Plus, in Season 8 when they gave away the million in the tournament, they also had a lot of others make it to $100,000. Or at least $50,000 under the timed format.

I can’t believe this boring mess is still on the air

Hey Alex, you should do a ten year special highlighting Nancy Christy and Kevin Smith’s wins. Also, maybe you could commemorate 10 years of syndicated Millionaire!

  • Nick says:

I was wondering, Alex, if you have ever gone to a taping when a contestant won big money?

  • Alex Davis says:

I think we will definitely end up doing some sort of 10 year special, yeah.

I’ve been to the set often and, somehow, I’ve never seen anyone win more than $25K. I’ve never seen anyone even answer a 3rd tier question right, or get to even question 10 of the new game. Yet I’ve seen 6 people leave with $0. I’m a curse. If you’re playing you should hope I don’t show up.

    • Nick says:

Haha! That’s a bit ironic! Wow, seeing that many zero dollar winners is enough to make one go mad! I have sneaking suspicion that you might have been at the taping of the ones during season 8 who were the 2 back to back contestants to get zero dollars.
