Weekend Replay: “Family Feud”, “Take Me Out”, and “Blockbusters”
It’s been a really slow news week, plus it’s been busy all around, so updates of any meaning haven’t been coming in as quick. I thought we’d show you some clips from the past week or so that we found memorable, funny, or just things we thought you’d like to see.
*Who doesn’t like a good Family Feud blooper? Yes, a provocative question is asked: “Name something that can never be long enough.” I think we all know the answer that will be coming up. However, it’s Steve Harvey’s great handling of the situation and the contestants that makes it fun to watch. It’s what always makes the show fun to watch.
*Excited for Fox’s new dating game show Take Me Out, coming this Thursday, June 7th, at 8:00PM ET? I know I am. To get you in the mood, Fox has released a long preview for the show featuring set footage, interviews with producers, and a talk with George Lopez. It looks like they stuck with the British look and feel which is smart. There’s no reason to mess with an established hit that works. We do that far too often. Click here to watch it.
*Haven’t had enough of a fix of Challenge’s Blockbusters revival? Some episodes have been popping up on YouTube and other places. If you haven’t had a chance to watch, you can see some of a recent episode below. As I’ve said for a while, they really did a great job updating a classic format to fit today’s look and feel.
*Speaking of Blockbusters, the multiplayer online game version is live. Now you can find out if your brain is better than two others, or if you and a partner can beat a solo player, as you try to cross the Blockbusters board. The winner faces the Gold Run and can keep playing to build a larger and larger back in an attempt to climb the leaderboard. I’ve been playing it a bit and it’s great fun. Click here for that.
We’ll have some features on NBC’s upcoming singing/game show The Winner Is over the next few days so stay tuned.
