“Get Away With It” with JetBlue Online Game Show
JetBlue is delving into a new way to advertise their vacation packages and reward those with knowledge about them: an interactive online game show. Get Away With It is the title of the Skype-based program, which is giving away five vacation packages a day ranging from trips to the Hard Rock in Las Vegas to the Seven Stars resort in Turks and Caicos. Although the programs began airing yesterday, contestants over the age of 18 are still encouraged to sign up for a chance to play the game at the easily-remembered website www.jetbluegetawayspresentsgetawaywithit.com. Enter your information if you’re interested in playing and, if you’re lucky enough, you’ll be contacted and given the opportunity to audition via Skype. Half of the criteria for being chosen is having a decent quality webcam, so make sure you have that in place before you send your details.
If you think you’re good at geographic-based trivia, why not give it a shot? Even if they don’t do well, contestants picked automatically receive a JetBlue voucher just for participating. And if you’re just interested in just watching, that’s fine too. Shows begin via their Ustream plug-in at 10 AM, 12 PM, 3 PM, 5 PM and 7 PM Eastern time through this Friday. “Fake” host Mark Hammerberg (played by FETCH! with Ruff Ruffman actor Jim Conroy) leads the activity from a tech-fitted New York City studio. Check it out if you’d like and let us know if you’re chosen to play later in the week!

The technology they are using is absolutely brilliant. I’m amazed at how smoothly it runs.
“Half of the criteria for being chosen is having a decent quality webcam”
Aaaaand of course, the OTHER half is being a citizen of the 50+D.C. *sigh*
Incidentally, it also says that can’t have purchased “any equipment or service for the purposes of entering this Contest.” So technically, though it’s unlikely, if you bought a higher-quality webcam (or your first webcam) so you could play “Get Away with It”, you’re technically in violation of the rules.

HAHA! That’s fantastic.
