ITV’s “Tipping Point” Debuts July 2nd

How about this for a quick turn-around.  It was just last Thursday we first heard about ITV’s upcoming game show Tipping Point, and Friday about host Ben Shephard.  We’ve now already got a debut date.  The new daytime quiz show will bow on Monday, July 2nd, at 5:00PM UK (12:00PM ET).  ITV has ordered twenty 60 minute episodes of the game.  Each episode sees contestants trying to answer questions in order to play a large coin drop machine.  A wrong answer, though, means you could face elimination.  The final contestant tries to win the golden jackpot disc to win a large cash prize.  If any video or previews pop up we’ll be sure to show you.

Why can’t ABC have a turn-around time this quick for The Last Exit?

    • Brad says:

I just watched several eps. of that on Youtube and it is undoubtedly everything you could ever want in a game show. Playable,. new format, genuine, quiz-style host, suspense, and yes, pure torture for the person reciting the list. I would love to email ITV and tell them how great both The Chase and The Exit List are.

And yet another reason why the British are better than us.

  • Tuppence says:

Well, if you like watching paint dry this is the show for you. No audience enthusiasm required other than watching a few counters drop off the shelves. Might as well go to Southend arcade and play with pennies on the waterfall. Boring, boring, boring. Bring back The Chase.

  • Nobleman says:

20 hours of this dross to watch each day before I go to work?? WTF were you thinking ITV, no way will this tripe last 20 shows, bring back Golden Balls!!

  • Jobow says:

What a absolute lot of crap! Tipping point is the most boring ‘game’ show ever!!! Bring back the chase please.

  • pat says:

sooooo slow, had to turn off bring back the chase

  • tom says:

awful, slowly losing the will to live.

  • andy says:

had the misfortune to catch one episode. billed as “nerve jangling”? – don’t make me laugh. What trained (or untrained) monkey came up with this idea. About as cliff hanging as a snail race . . with one snail!!

  • Dane says:

Who in there right mind gave this the go ahead! They need a reality check!

  • Louise says:

Five minutes into watching this for the first time, I had to switch it off. It’s the most utterly boring and unecessary gameshow since Red or Black. I would rather watch the same repeated episode of The Chase every day for a month (as long as it was one with Mark Labett) until a new series comes back than ever watch this dross again. Ben Sheperd has as much charm and personality as a box of shredded paper. ITV, please just find an old series of 3-2-1 or something to re-run until the new series of The Chase is ready!

  • m schofield says:

just watched todays game do they not know there are 4 suits and not 5 in a deck of cards

  • Len Ingrad says:

m schofield – I thought I’d misheard the answer when she said 5 suits in a deck of cards and Ben Shephard said her answer was correct!

  • Mrs Sylvia Edwards says:

What a dreadfull game show. I thought I was with my grandchildren in Blackpool. 20 shows of this rubbish. no way I would rather turn my TV off

What a load off rubbish. Bring back The Chase or Golden Balls

  • dan says:

they should stroll over to the machine whistling innocently then give it a gentle whack to get the coins to drop. dont hit it too hard though or the alarm will go off and a fat security guard will chase you…. actually that all sounds much more fun than the actual game which is shit

  • Moochel says:

    worst. show. ever

  • MissG says:

Ben Shephard makes me want to stick pins in my eyes.
If I hear ‘ghost drop’ ‘its riding’ or ‘nice and flat’ one more time I will scream.
    Bring back The Chase!!!!
