“Family Game Night” Casting for Third Season
The Hub’s popular game show Family Game Night looks to be returning from the dead. Once confirmed to be done by multiple sources, the Todd Newton hosted game show will allegedly be returning for its third season, if casting notices are anything to go by. The Emmy nominated series was previously renewed by The Hub in March for its 3rd season, but several sources reported that this would not be the case. We’re happy to see some progress being made. As we said earlier, Family Game Night is currently looking for contestants for new episodes. Families must consist of at least one child ages 8-15 and at least one adult. If you live in, near, or plan on visiting Los Angeles and you want to try to win thousands of dollars in cash, trips, and prizes, click here to apply. Good luck.

As far as I could tell it was never confirmed that the show was cancelled…just a few posts on various game show sites…
Especially Wiki because Here’s that quote for Wiki.
“On March 1, 2012 Family Game Night was given the green light by the Hub for a third season in 2012-2013, but there have been speculations whether or not it will be produced.”
But it turns out they will have a third season after all.
I hate how there’s no shows for anyone 16 or 17 besides the occasional teen week on Jeopardy or Wheel. Just doesn’t seem fair at all.
FGN is, for my money, the best cable game show not on GSN. (Not that GSN has been providing much competition. Another subject for another time.)
Yes, it’s easy to say FGN is an hour-long infomercial for Hasbro’s board games, toys, etc. But consider the source.
Todd Newton is easily one of the best hosts on television. I still remember his days on E! Plus, FGN is produced by folks who, wait for it, actually know how to put a quality game show on the air. And when the final scores are tabulated at the end of the hour, the runner-up family could go home with a better than decent haul.
Just for the sake of more play-along, I’d like to see the return of the Guess Who? toss-up game. Regardless of the opening toss-up, I’d like to see the winner of said toss-up get two Monopoly cards and the runner-up one card to provide said winner a *little* bit of an edge.
Other than that and the likely additions/changes to the game rotation, I wouldn’t change a thing.
Best of luck to Team FGN going forward.
I disagree. I still would like to see more of the Cranium Brain Breaks toss up game with the winner gets two Monopoly Cash Cards while the loser gets one.
Todd Newton stated that FGN will be back for a third season on a radio show in Florida.
As far is Todd hosting Family Game Night on The Hub, I would like to see Todd Newton host a High Rollers revival in 2013. Todd should be a good game show host doing double duty hosting Family Game Night and High Rollers in2013.
