Challenge Debuts New “Blockbusters” Theme and Title Sequence

The debut of Challenge’s upcoming series of Blockbusters is just weeks away.  Simon Mayo takes over the reigns of the cult quiz show on May 14th at 8:00PM.  Challenge has made sure viewers know they are keeping their roots in the classic version while updating the surroundings.  To help this, the network has debuted a look at the Blockbusters opening theme, a revamp of the old one, and title sequence.

Take a look.  What do you think?  Looks very cool to me.

The only thing I wish is that it had kept the opening drum line, but other than that, outstanding!

  • Wayne says:

If only GSN could do 1/2 as good with an entire show as they just did with this sequence…

  • Scott says:

Impressive. If only GSN dedicated this much effort into producing a good theme song for one of their game shows…

  • MikeSant318 says:

Could we invite some ChallengeUK people to the states to do a takeover of GSN and their channel, like Robert Irvine does with “Restaurant Impossible” on Food Network? It’s The Only Thing that’ll save GSN…

  • matt says:

Isn’t it nice how there can actually be time in the UK for a proper opening sequence? Not unlike us brutes here in America, who cannibalize extra time for more shady advertising.

  • Brad Gandy says:

I definitely want to see this now! Come on, YouTube. Be good to me.

  • Adam says:

The UK is not only lucky to have and excellent revival of Blockbusters but a hot chic present a preview of the opening and the set as well. I wish the US was as good as the UK in this matter.

  • Jarrett says:

i like the opening….however it does remind me a little bit of something from the MegaMan X series! LOL!
