GSN Features Different Programs Each Night Starting November 7th
GSN is revamping their recently struggling primetime lineup starting November 7th. Instead of featuring the same shows night after night, GSN will showcase different programs, both old and new, from 7:00PM ET to 12:00AM ET. These shows carry on at least through the week of November 14th. We don’t have schedules after that, so if shows rotate after that it’s not known. If you’re a fan of the old shows, you may want to watch Fridays to show the network you want to see more of these shows.
Here’s the lineup:
Mondays:
7PM: Million Dollar Password
8PM: Power of 10
9PM: 1 VS 100
10PM: Who Wants to be a Millionaire
11PM: Deal or No Deal
Tuesdays:
7PM to 12AM: The Newlywed Game
Wednesdays:
7PM to 12AM: Baggage
Thursdays:
7PM to 12AM: Deal or No Deal
Fridays:
7PM: Match Game
8PM: The $25,000 Pyramid
9PM: Card Sharks
10PM: Family Feud (Dawson)
11PM: The $100,000 Pyramid
Saturdays:
7PM to 9:30PM: Family Feud (Karn)
9:30PM to 12AM: Family Feud (O’Hurley)
(Poker is cut back to 12AM to 2AM only now)
Sundays:
7PM to 12AM: Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?
Again, all these changes are effective November 7th. We get constant complaints from people wanting to see the older shows. If you do, watch Fridays. Send a message. What do you think of the updates? GSN PDF schedules are updated at the bottom of the page.

I vaguely remember them a few years ago having Pyramids from 8-10 one weeknight, then Match Game another, and so on, so it’s not new..
First off, this is a different David. :-D
Now, for my reply. Every time I have said “this is decent”, GSN finds a way to mess it up. This change is indeed confusing; it sounds more like a recipe for overkill. So I doubt they’ll stick with it long. We shall soon see.
I am impressed to see the classics on Friday’s. Really looking forward to the classics, as well as the modern game shows.
YouTube has plenty of classics available. I watched a 1978 episode of High Rollers (Trebek) there yesterday.
Well, well, well, it’s about time that they showed Match Game and Card Sharks when I’m not working
I am banking that Millionaire is Regis?
Yeah, but is it the same episodes they have been repeating constantly for the past 2 years – if so, what’s the point?
The timeslot it’s in is the key. And 200 episodes is quite a number of episodes for any time slot it’s in. It may attract a different group of viewers who are either not working or not in bed. Where I live, Card Sharks in late night airs at 4:30 a.m. It airs no earlier than midnight in the Pacific time zone, when people on the East Coast are probably in bed when it airs.
Figured you’d complain about this.
As for all changes, I’m thrilled. Hope this works well for them.
I’m very happy with this scheduling move on Friday nights. It may be the same shows we’ve seen since April 2010, but this will give them exposure to people who can’t watch them in the morning or late nights. And if they do well, perhaps it will lead to more old school shows in the regular schedule, and maybe even some new acquisitions. All in all, these marathons are a nice change of pace – they needed something to shake up prime time.
That aside, I’m glad to see Drew and Wendy finally bite the dust, and to see poker get severely cut back. Inaba also disappears completely (I thought she might at least keep a weekend slot). And Engvall will be exiled to midnight, just like Drew has been, so we can probably forget about a new season.
It’s high time they brought us classics in prime time! I will definitely be tuning into GSN on Friday nights for sure! Finally, I get to see classics at a time that I am not in bed, or not at work! Sure, it may be the same 200- or 400-episode lease, but it beats nothing at all!
As for Improv-a-Ganza and Love Triangle… Hasta la Vista and Good Riddance. They will not be missed.
I feel like so far this throws Billy’s worries into the water but this is just “for now” so we’ll see.
As for the schedule, more of the same shows AGAIN but I can still support this, expecially if we see quick rotations so we see different shows pretty often. Fridays could be a very interesting night if surprises are in store in future shakeups. I’d love to see Double Dare, Now You See It, Body Language and whatnot.
I enjoy Gsn, but they need to get some additional new or shows that haven’t been aired in a while. power of 10 is fun, but they have shown the limited # of episodes many many times, same with million password. the new schedule might make it more interesting, but if it is the same repeats over and over again it will not gain new fans, and lose more loyal viewers. more new shows!!!
Jon and Rob G are right. It is high time that they brought back some of the old game shows like Super Market Sweep, The Price Is Right and Wheel Of Fortune. And they do need to get some additional new or old shows that they have not aired yet or that they haven’t aired in while like Hollywood Squares and they will start airing Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader? a week from this up coming Sunday and Another game show that they should air is Don’t Forget The Lyrics.
No don’t forget the lyrics, too new.
I think we all want to forget the lyrics at this point…
GSN never had Supermarket Sweep.
I think this happened because of the semi-recent staff change, and they now want to go back to the viewers. They’re showing a smorgasbord (if you will) of shows to “ask” what we’d prefer. I hope that’s the case becasue that sounds like a great idea.
Having said that…Friday Friday Friday Friday!!!
I’m getting tired of seeing the same episodes of all those game shows all the time. Where’s Press Your Luck, the old show?
Why show 1 program for one night? And boring ones at that? Get rid of these trash shows and bring back the original shows that were the foundation of the network. Classic shows that are no longer on tv. Where is Scrabble with Chuck Woolery? Name that Tune? Concentration? High Rollers? Gambit? Dealer’s Choice? Password with Allen Ludden? Joker’s Wild? Treasure Hunt? Sale of the Century? Bullseye with Jim Lange?Tic Tac Dough? If you put these shows in those slots, you would make us classic game show fans very happy. I will watch the shows I love and that is all. Smarter than fifth grader is overkill for allof those hours. Variety is the spice of life, but not to those at your programming decision headquarters. Comedians do not make great game show hosts. I would rather watch Bob Eubanks, Bob Barker, or any of the greats who know how to host a show.
GSN can not get Sale Of The Century and Scrabble and I never heard of Dealer’s Choice, I also don’t believe that they can get that one. They also can not get Name That Tune because of music clearances.
And you know this how? Last time I checked, Name that tune was already made. I’m not talking about new shows. I hate their choices for hosting the shows. Dealer’s Choice was a game show hosted by Jack Clark who also did Cross Wits. It was on in the 70′s. Also Tattletales would be a refreshing change to see instead of the garbage that will be coming on. Not including the certain shows that have not been on for quite a while. How about airing classic episodes of The Newlywed Game with the only one who should host the show, Bob Eubanks.
GSN said once that they can not show those and it would be hard to get the rights to those ahyway.
Note to self: AVOID watching GSN on Tuesday nights.
Also Wednesday and Thursday nights too. One program for all that time is overkill. Give me Classics all night.
Basically GSN should keep it the way it is now. Prime time lineup now from 6-8P.M. is actually really good.
The good news is about this is they have completely cut back on Inaba’s 1 vs. 100, Love Triangle and Drew Carey’s Improv-a-Ganza. They also cut back a little on Lingo and Catch 21, but those should both get new seasons. They are both good shows and had good ratings.
Well they definitely have me Monday’s at 10pm (if it’s Regis) and Friday nights!
Hopefully this will lead to showing more classics more often, especially of the shows we really want to see!
Maybe someone here can confirm/deny this, but I read somewhere (and I didn’t really get to read the details when I saw it, so I may have misunderstood or not have the whole story) part of the problem (for now) of not being able to see more of the classics is that with the proliferation of hi-def programming and FCC regs, old stuff now needs to be converted to a digital format? If I’m correct, this could be why Freemantle isn’t releasing more stuff for us to see or why GSN isn’t willing to pay the price–because it may just be cost prohibitive to convert.
Sony should just put out on-demand DVDs of whatever is in their inventory they don’t want to show on GSN anymore.
Here are 7 blocks I want to see in the future:
Family Feud (Dawson & Combs)
Match Game (Rayburn & Shafer)
Card Sharks (Perry & Eubanks)
Password Plus and Super Password
Blockbusters (Cullen & Rafferty)
Now You See It (Narz & maybe Henry)
Pyramid ($25,000 & $100,000)
Chuck Henry told GSN that he doesn’t want his version of Now You See It shown anywhere because he hated doing it.
And not only that, it will also ruin his career of working in news.
Too much Family Feud, other than that, great list.
I’m really going to enjoy Friday nights since those shows are usually on when I’m in school, but would it kill them to, instead of just changing time slots, actually air different shows?
Also, finally! They are cutting back on the poker shows that nobody care about!
I really wish they would go back to the late 90′s-early 2000′s days.
I remember watching these shows (Tic-Tac Dough, The Joker’s Wild, Card Sharks) on mornings when I didn’t have to go to school
(and lots of good GSN Originals too! (Friend or Foe, Russian Roullette, Cram)
I look at the schedule and think WOW what happened!
This would be my dream lineup for Primetime:
NOW and THEN Block
6 PM Supermarket Sweep (New Episodes)
6:30 PM Classic Supermarket Sweep
7 PM Win-Tuition (New Episodes) Marc Summers
7:30 PM Family Double Dare-Marc Summers
8 PM Press Your Luck
8:30 PM Whammy (New Episodes)
9 PM Scrabble/Lingo or Family Feud
10 PM The Price is Right (Bob Barker 70′s and 80′s episodes)
11 PM The Price is Right (90′s and 2000-2007 Episodes)
WAY TO GO GSN.
They need to get Tic Tac Dough, The Joker’s Wild, Bullseye, Hot Potato, Press Your Luck and Blockbusters back on GSN.
Good idea
if marketed correctly, this idea launched Nick at Nite into the stratosphere and did the same for other niche networks…the block idea works and it’s a good idea.
Now they need to market it…and yes…I agree with the panel…don’t bitch about the lack of classic shows if you don’t watch Classic Friday…it’s not a great lineup…but it’s better than ANYTHING they’ve had in a long time…
Agree about the Jack Barry comment…need to dust those off…the few classic shows they DO run are getting onto the stale side.
If GSN didn’t (time and again) jerk viewers around, I’d be more willing to give them credit. I don’t see these blocks lasting more than a month tops because they never allow time for them to grow on people.
And for those of you who are clamoring for (insert name of show here), forget it. A leopard never changes its spots, and GSN will continue to ignore any and all “different” shows to avoid spending more than they want to. Live with it!
And speaking of living with it, I don’t know if anybody here knows why GSN can not show TPIR again but it has nothing to do with Bob Barker. It has something to do with Leslie Moonves.
You know, GSN gives a little, and now all of you are demanding a lot.
This will be the first time in YEARS that GSN has shown classics in prime time, outside of theme nights or tributes. So this is an improvement over what we have seen in the last three years. It also shows to us that in the programming dept’s eyes, Classics aren’t dead, nor are they to be thrown to the late night or early slots and be forgotten to the core potential audience.
So praise this. And let’s not demand anything else until the returns start to come in for these themed nights. Because right now, our demands have no legs to stand on. If and when the Friday night numbers show that there is still an audience for classics, then you can start asking more.
Hope you enjoyed Million Dollar Mondays. It looks like as of November 21st, it’s gone. Newlywed Game will take Mondays, and Baggage gets an additional night on Tuesdays. There could be more changes.
Dear GSN, Please bring back Bullseye/Celebrity Bullseye with Jim Lange. I haven’t seen the show since I was a boy. Bullseye is my all time favorite especially with the swirls and bonus island with the lightning. I would love to see it put back on the lineup in November. Thanks
Wow. A year later, A lot has changed since this.
