“GSN Live” Undergoes Revamp
Those of you that watch GSN Live daily may be noticing some changes. GSN’s daily live interactive show taking place between the commercial breaks of afternoon programming is in the process of a revamp. The changes began this Monday, May 2nd, and will continue through August when the new format will be shown. A GSN spokesperson released the following statement:
“Beginning the week of May 2—in an effort to provide the GSN community with more winning opportunities—viewers will notice changes to ‘GSN Live,’ our daily short-form series that gives our audience the chance to play games, win cash and prizes, and celebrate winners. These changes will continue over the coming months and, in August, GSN will introduce a new format, brand and schedule for these short-form segments. The new format will provide viewers with more chances to play and win than ever before, and offer exciting new integration opportunities for our advertisers and affiliates.”
We’ve got no information, either official or inside, as to what the changes are going to be or what to expect. For what it’s worth, though, the statement seems pretty close to the one released when Playmania left the air and we got GSN Live. GSN Live began in 2008 and was hosted by Fred Roggin and Heidi Bohay. It’s currently solely hosted by Bob Guiney. We’ll keep you posted.

GSN Live hasn’t been the same since Heidi and Fred left…..
I would hope that one of the “opportunities” would be bringing back GSN Interactive. I thought it was one of the best features on the old GSN.com. I also hope the schedule changes are for the better.
When you say GSN Interactive, are you talking about the old “leaderboards” they had and you could play along with Match Game, Russian Roulette, etc.? Well, the fools starting saving answers to the questions, so that took the fun out of it. I hardly ever watch it anymore, Bob’s voice is worse than Roseanne Barr and Sarah Palin COMBINED
Yea, after Fred and Heidi left, GSN Live jumped the shark. Also When GSN Live first expanded Fred and Heidi should have hosted the whole show so when there was a guest he would be with them all day long.
GSN Live still comes on? Shows how I much I pay attention to the network before 6pm nowadays…
@Ernest, yeah, they revamped the set and were off for a week or in May 2009, came back with 3 hosts, then Fred left in July 2009. Heidi left soon thereafter, she occasionally fills in
GSN still has viewers?
I’m with you on that one Wayne – since the network got rid of most of the G/T library, and started running “Match Game”, “Pyramid”, and “Card Sharks” into the ground, I haven’t watched it since the end of the year, and I don’t really miss it! If the network would get back to being G(ame) S(how) N(etwork), then maybe I’d be back, but that day is long gone, I’m afraid!
I sure hope not everyone feels like you, I want to watch game shows, not dating shows, reality shows, cat shows or retreaded improv–I would be back in a heartbeat.
Like the changes to their originals, it’s good to see GSN Live finally getting an overhaul of its own. I haven’t really been watching regularly since October 2009 and even became disinterested in Oodles almost entirely because the fun wore off very quickly. I will check out the its evolved form in late summer. It might generate my interest again.
