Trivia Tuesday: “Jeopardy!” Online Exam and “You Don’t Know Jack” Today
Fans of all forms of trivia are in luck today. Two major trivia tests are out, quizzing you for both potentially real and fake cash. First, today’s the day many have been waiting for. It’s the Jeopardy! online contestant exam for the East. We previously featured a story about it which included tips from readers who have taken it.
The test is comprised of 50 questions which must be answered in fifteen seconds each. Testing begins at 8:00PM ET and lasts roughly 15-20 minutes. Exams for the Central and Mountain time zones, and Pacific, will take place on the 9th and 10th, respectively. Click here to take the test and read more about it. Good luck.
Once you’ve got all your regular, standard trivia out of the way, I’m sure many of you will be playing some You Don’t Know Jack. The irreverent quiz show party game is back after a long break on all major consoles. Over 70 episodes of trivia are waiting for you and your friends. The game is playable on XBox Live and PSN so all those with online capabilities be sure to keep an eye out here and on Twitter because we’ll be having some games. I’m sure you can find me on XBox tomorrow.
Be sure to check out Millionaire tomorrow. It’s going to be one hell of an episode.

Can’t wait for you don’t know Jack.
And quick correction Alex, it’s Xbox, not XBox.
Crap! My delivery of Jack was delayed due to weather. (There hasn’t been any new weather that I know of, and I got my other stuff today.) Bad bad day. Anyway, I guess you can play with me tomorrow on gamertag bondfool007.
I’m taking the J! online test tonight. I’m actually fairly confident, since I’ve been playing the DS game a lot for practice.
I’ve decided to hold off on taking the Jeopardy test until next year to try and gather more knowledge beforehand. Best of luck to everyone who’s taking the test!
Heh. Listening to my mom take the test was pretty funny. The strange thing was, I knew about 9/10 of her questions. Why can’t it ever be like that on the teen test? TT_TT
I just checked all the questions & answers, I got 37/50–PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats!!!!! I did not look up the answers afterwards, but I think I did preety well so hopefully I might get a call to go on to phase 2.
I got around 40 or so for certain, split the other 10 on good guesses and “I have no idea”; just hope they don’t score this like the Wunderlich test (like they give to the NFL rookies at the Indianapolis combine), where consecutive right answers from Question 1 count more than anything, ’cause my test had something about an Algerian author I had NO IDEA ABOUT WHATSOEVER…
…off to DC if I pass and beat the random draw…
Same here, depending if I get a call back from the show. And I feel ya on that first question, I did even have a clue as to who the author was. But I was able to get one on Current Authors right though!!!!
What do you expect? That was a difficult test. Literature and Shakespeare are my least-favorite subjects. I have a short-attention span when it comes to reading novels & plays; I find them boring (and time-consuming) to read. Nonfiction books (i.e. Encyclopedia of TV Game Shows, Trivia Books, The Bible, Jeopardy! Quiz Books) interest me more than a piece of glorified Fiction.
Yeah, breaking down the categories to the original six of Trivial Pursuit, I would’ve put 26% into AL.
That’s one of my big-time weak spots too, but somehow I managed 11/12 on that.
I didn’t find it that hard, since this is only the second time that I took the test. Most of the questions were general knowlege in which I had no diffaculty answering, but some of the art and literature questions were tough. That is what is going to hurt my chances at getting a second audition.
Although I have only heard about YDKJ when it was brought up on Buzzer, I have been looking forward to this game for quite awhile. I have a few brewing concerns about the game though. It seems like to my understanding that this game is split into episodes with fixed questions for each episode. How fun is this game simply going solo? I feel like the novelty of a party will be sorely lacking when I play alone and I feel like once I get people to play and manage to find controllers, I may already run the episodes dry. :P
That leads to my other concern with online play. It seems to me that at this point, it will be fun to play the game against online players as everyone has started out. However, in a month or two, will the online community still be as active and will it be easy to find a game? (How is it right now to boot?) I’m also concerned if by then, many people will memorize the questions and make playing online bunk.
Single player is still fun (god knows I’ve played solo more times than I can count), but the best experience in my opinion is local multiplayer. Online isn’t too hard to find a game as of now (brand new game), and the game tries to pick an episode no one in the game has played to level the playing field (if possible). Currently, there are 72 episodes on the disc, and 10 more downloadable through Xbox Live (and probably PSN too).
Would love to get a buzzerblog game of YDKJ going sometime.
GT: Code to Joy
Same here. Would love to have a list of people who I can go through if I want to play a game of YDKJ. Gamertag is “gamerrox” if anyone is on-board for some “jacking.” :P
By the way, Millionaire on Feb 9 stunk.
