  • Any word about a certain other game show, one that involves catching the square root of 441?

I heard it's coming back and that they were just planning on splitting up the two shows to capitalize on their ratings. I think that's going to bite them in the ass when they realize that the ratings for Newlywed Game are only good because of the name Newlywed Game attached to it, but I've been wrong before. I haven't been wrong about GSN's decisions in the past few years, but weird things have happened. I wish I knew more about Catch 21, but I just don't yet. Wouldn't shock me entirely to see it bite the dust. They canceled Lingo when it was their top rated show.

Newlywed Game: If anyone were watching, there'd be some moralists flipping out about the barely-euphemistic treatment of the couples' sex lives. It's almost as voyeuristic as a VH1 reality show. :)

Baggage: Interesting concept, terribly dull execution. And I have my doubts about the central contestant's "baggage"… it sounds like a story made up to get on television. His "explanation" was completely unconvincing. Considering that Jerry Springer has been faking a talk show for years (I know people who've played roles on the show)… it's not a big step to allowing a contestant to fake his story on a dating show…

Wouldn't surprise me if they reformatted the show's format to make it more like Gambit. Then again, I'm hallucinating.
